Splore Festival invited us to make a work that invited splorers to relax and meditate under the hangings of the Pohutukawa.
We responded by exploring the ideas of quantum reality, how all particles are connected as a network that we know as spacetime. Anything that happens in our universe fits into this network. Anything we observe, we instantly have an effect on, forcing it to become something specific and hold an exact value.
Our installation incorporated a distance sensor that responded to people entering the space by sending a signal to the strips of LED lights. The lights fade at a speed set by the sensor, allowing those outside the tree to agitate those under the tree.
