Recycled Mississippi

By Kaitiaki, Hubbub and others

Is it possible to travel the longest river in America on trash?

Recycled Mississippi is a zero waste 4,000 km source-to-sea journey down the Mississippi river on a boat made from recycled plastic bottles. The expedition's purpose is to share an uplifting story about how waste can be turned into a valuable resource for humanity. It also seeks to highlight the harmful effects of plastic on our environment and encourage ethical consumption through showcasing the beauty of our world.

Hubbub's role in this expedition is to provide a system that allows the world to track the journey as it happens. As the boat and it's crew float down the river, information about the water quality and environment will be added to the online map, allowing the whole world to be part of the expedition.
